Shipping policy

Shipping and Delivery

  • We use NZ Post – Perishable shipping is used to ensure quality and minimize transit times for perishable goods.

  • Email notification and tracking information are provided when your parcel is dispatched.

  • Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Delivery times:

  • Local: 1–2 days

  • National: 2–3 days

  • No deliveries Friday–Sunday or on major holidays unless otherwise specified. Weekend orders ship on the next business day.

  • Orders for delivery north of Auckland and south of Christchurch will be dispatched on Monday-Wednesday

  • Delivery times may vary; every effort is made to minimize delays.

  • Rural (RD) deliveries are at customers' own risk due an extra day delivery time. We advise having your parcel delivered to a residential address where possible.

By placing an order, you acknowledge that the Eltham Cheese Bar is not responsible for any lost or misdelivered parcels once they have been dispatched to the address you provide. Please ensure the delivery address you provide is secure or a location you consider safe for receiving packages.

Shipping Rates

NZ Wide shipping rates are calculated at checkout include the:

  • Weight of the cheese

  • Packaging weight (such as ice pack and carton)

The weights of these components can vary, so they total weight will not match the exact cheese weight ordered. Shipping charges will be displayed at checkout. 

Packaging and Handling

Cheese is a temperature-sensitive product, and we take great care in ensuring it arrives in peak condition:

  1. Insulated Packaging: Each order is packed in shipping boxes and aluminium liner to minimize exposure to temperature fluctuations.

  2. Cold Packs: Non-toxic gel ice packs are included in every shipment to keep the cheese cool for up to 30 hours.

  3. Vacuum Sealing: Cheese is vacuum-sealed to preserve freshness and prevent contamination during transit.

To ensure product freshness and safety:

  • Temperature-Controlled Environment: Cheese is stored in temperature-controlled facilities before shipment.

  • Shipping Days: Perishable items are shipped Monday through Thursday to avoid weekend delays in transit.

  • Customer Responsibility: We Customers are responsible for receiving shipments promptly to prevent spoilage .

International Shipping

Currently, we do not ship cheese internationally due to customs regulations and extended transit times that may compromise product quality.

Maximum Orders

Orders are available to the maximum quantity of 12kgs
